When do the awards open for entries?
The awards will open on 14th January 2019.

The awards close to entries at 12 noon on Friday 29th March 2019.
Who can enter?
The Mendip Business Awards are open to all businesses, social enterprises, CIC’s and professional organisations with at least one business location within the Mendip District Council area – including home-based and start-up businesses. If you are unsure whether your premises are in the area, you can check by entering your postcode at: https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council
How do I enter?
The 'ENTER' button at the top of the page takes you to the online entry form; or here. Simply complete every section of the form and press submit. We recommend typing your draft answer into a document that can be edited and saved until you're ready to submit your entry. Alternatively you can print a copy of the form and post it to us on the address detailed on the form. f you have any problems please get in touch ASAP. Please check your eligibility to enter on the 'Criteria' button on the Home page before completing your entry.
Will I find out if I'm shortlisted?
Yes, there are 2 stages to judging. After the first stage of judging, the top 5 businesses from each category will be notified that they have been shortlisted. Shortlisted businesses will go through a second round of judging where the business will be looked into in more detail by 1 or more of the judges. This could involve a mystery phone call, looking at the website or a visit to the business.
What happens if I'm shortlisted?

If I'm shortlisted, how do I know if I've won?
At the Awards! Get some tickets and find out on the night. The awards are a great opportunity for networking and if you're one of the finalists or winner of your category you'll have your photo taken and will appear in the local press.
If I'm shortlisted what chance do I have of winning?
There will be 5 shortlisted businesses from each category with 2 finalists and 1 winner. If you're shortlisted you have a 3 in 5 chance of going home with something! Pretty good odds!
I'm having problems with my form, help!
We've had our entry forms professionally designed to overcome any compatibility issues however, if you have any problems at all after the opening date, please call or email us - we'll be able to work around it.
I don't know where to begin and could do with some help - is any available?
YES! We will hosting drop in surgeries across the district - email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.

How much are tickets and how can I order them?
Tickets are £30 (inc VAT) each and will be on sale in March 2019. Please note, tickets are initially limited to 2 per business entry. You can note additional ticket requests on your form and we will let you know if these can be accommodated after the shortlist has been announced.

Who are the judges?
The Mendip Business Award judges are representatives from the FSB, local Chambers of Commerce, local entrepreneurs and the Managing Editor of Mid Somerset Series.
